Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

Please go to the Contact page on this website and fill in the form. Once this is completed, you will be contacted regarding availability and determining if we are a good fit to work together.

How will I know if we are a good therapeutic fit?

This ultimately comes down to what you are looking for in therapy. Ensuring that you find a therapist that is a good therapeutic fit is important to your treatment progression. It generally can take a few sessions to determine if there is a good therapeutic fit.

Do you do telehealth or in-person sessions?

Sessions are currently offered via telehealth.

What are the limits to confidentiality?

Psychologists are mandated reporters for certain risk factors and vulnerable populations. This means that over the course of therapy, if a client is at risk of hurting themselves or someone else, we are legally required to report this to the appropriate authorities. If there is evidence of abuse of a child, elder or persons with disability, we are also legally required to report this to the appropriate authorities.

How will I be billed?

If your insurance is taken at this practice, claims will be submitted to your insurance company directly. Copays will be billed to the credit card that you have provided through the HIPAA compliant electronic health record client portal.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. A client’s credit card will be charged for any session that is not cancelled at least 24 business hours prior to the scheduled session. Please note that for Monday appointments in order to avoid a late cancellation charge, appointments would need to be cancelled on Friday (e.g., if your appointment is on Monday at 2pm, cancellation would need to happen by 2pm the Friday before your appointment). Given that insurance cannot be billed for late cancellations or missed appointments, under these circumstances, clients will be charged a fee of $200.

Will my insurance be billed for my appointment if I have to cancel within 24 hours of my scheduled appointment?

No, insurance cannot be billed for late cancellations or missed appointments. Under these circumstances, clients will be charged a fee of $200.

What insurances do you take?

We take a number of the commonly used commercial insurance plans. Please complete the Contact form and we will let you know if we take your insurance.

Can I still see you if you are an out-of-network provider for my insurance?

Yes, you can! In this case, you would pay the out-of-pocket rate (rates are listed on the Services page of this website). You will then be provided with a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement if you wish to do so. You will want to check with your insurance company first to find out how much your plan will reimburse for out-of-network behavioral health services to ensure that this will be a comfortable rate for you.
